30 Seconds To Mars
30 Seconds To Mars (Immortal/Virgin)

By: Cam Lindsay

So far, actors becoming musicians hasn't worked out very well. Dogstar (Keanu Reeves)? 30 Odd Foot of Grunts (Russell Crowe)? Bruno (Bruce Willis)? Well, Jared Leto seems like the one hip enough to pull it off, but alas, 30 Seconds To Mars, fails miserably. It's tough to say what got into him, because this full-length sounds like unintelligible drivel, or in other words, "Just what we need, another aggressive falsei-metal band trying to sound tortured". Leto can at least be happy about one thing: this album is so forgettable that it will likely be up there with Michael Jordan's decision to take up professional baseball, which nobody likes to remember.
