Hockey Night
Rad Zapping (Hockey Night Music)

By: Alex Steininger

Hockey Night's Rad Zapping is a fun album. From the colorful, collage artwork design to the mellow indie pop that revolves around each song, through the band's incorporation of slight electronica and a cute disco trip, as well the complimentary loose, loud rock 'n' roll excitement. The band seems to just want to play songs that make people smile; they don't inundate you with messages or try to win you over with gimmicks. They just play what they want, to reflect how they feel, and come out with something that is like several other bands, but never mimic just one band, helping to separate themselves from the pack of other indie bands who do. And because of that, they retain a unique feel to themselves, an identity that is definitely their own. I'll give it a B.
