Congress of the Cow
Congress of the Cow (M-Theory Records)

Guitar-driven modern rock with a bite, San Diego's Congress of the Cow come out of the gates swinging hard, their beefy, crunchy rock ripping into you. Later on in the album, though, they give the louder rock a rest (at least for a few seconds) as they their hand at ambient rock before spiraling back into the crunchy guitars and hard-hitting beats that mark this album.
