Bettie Serveert Log 22 (Parasol/Palomine Records) By: Alex Steininger

Holland-based indie-rock outfit Bettie Serveert's fifth album, Log 22 doesn't deviate far from their earlier work, however their stable pop hooks and warming indie-rock-pop vibe, and their crunchy, guitar-first rocking side, both may not be original, but leave little to be desired. Fronted by Carol van Dyk, the lo-fi-at-times, lush at other times, rock of Bettie Serveert can rock out or leave you in tears. It's solid and strong. I'll give it a B.
