 Recorded and produced by Keith Cleversley (Flaming Lips, Hum), Chicago's Safes' self-titled EP is a collection of smart, danceable throwback pop songs that equally recall Buddy Holly as much as they do The Replacements. Fusing post-punk and sock-hop pop together to create a bouncy, charming sound that makes you want to sing along and smile, forgetting your worries as you get lost in a solid pop song. I'll give it a B+.
