Dance A While, Upset (Deep Elm)

With the same conviction and plan of attack of other bands on Deep Elm, the card carrying emo band Settlefish fail to live up to the greatness of the other bands on the label. Shoveling up emo that has been rehashed and re-dressed, not nearly hitting the tension or the pulse of similar bands and/or label mates. Settlefish's Dance A While, Upset reminds us of why emo can grate on the nerve, whereas other Deep Elm bands remind us why emo is such a blessing at times. This loud, abrasive, throw-caution-to-the-wind assaults of bloody musing, screaming vocals, and a general disregard for melody as they try to entrap it in their tortured souls sound. I'll give this a C-.
