Ascend to the Stars (Crank!)

 Last Days of April's Ascend to the Stars was produced by Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, International Noise Conspiracy). The Swedish-based band delivers an indie-rock excursion, taking you through bare-bones guitar-rock a la indie style, stronger, more melodic pop-rock songs, and some airy, softer moments to boot. But the main focus is rock, and the band does it with standard indie fare, though with enough smarts and dedication to not sound redundant or over played, as well as not just another indie-rock band. Ascend to the Stars has its good and bad moments, but overall it is a pleasant listen. I'll give it a C+.
