Peabody
Stupid Boy (Nonzero)

By: Alex Steininger

Australian rock outfit Peabody's latest release, Stupid Boy EP, is a snotty, fast-paced record equal parts influenced by the likes of The Clash and the Sex Pistols as well as Elvis Costello and the Jam. It's a full-on rock attack that doesn't mind playing to its punk leanings, while reminding the listener they're not punk, they're just a blue collar rock band that sings about what they know, regardless of what you think (hey, isn't that what punk is all about?). One heck of a release, the relentless attack of Peabody doesn't give up throughout these five tracks. And, after you're done listening, sweating and ready to do it again, the breakneck pace of the record coming and going quickly, you'll hit repeat and try to see if you can hear something you missed last go 'round. I'll give it a B.
