Dynasty
Dynasty (Tigerbeat6)

By: Cam Lindsay

Signed to Kid 606's Tigerbeat6 label and proteg?s of Gold Chains, Dynasty is a trio of girls who could show the babes in Fannypack a thing or two about stylin'. Released as a 7-song EP or a full mini-album, whichever way you categorize your formats, Dynasty (produced by Gold Chains) throws a new wave-electro-punk house party that only quits because of its 20-minute time limit. Comprised of Jibz Cameron (Roofies), Indra Dunis (Numbers) and Diana Hayes (Mono Pause), Dynasty share similarities with dance punk groups like Chicks On Speed and Le Tigre, in that they know how to use DIY ethics to raise their character. There's plenty of humour (all straight-faced), kitschy synths, and wildy inventive beats, that all force a serious urge to dance like a maniac. And while it may not be as riveting as Gold Chains' recent Young Miss America, Dynasty has enough thrills to keep Tigerbeat6 up there as one of the best and most consistent underground labels running.
