Nasum
Helvete (Relapse)

By: Jeb Branin

This CD has been out awhile and I am finally getting around to reviewing it, but I have a good excuse. I put it into my CD player the day I got it and it exploded so hard out of my speakers that it blew me halfway across the globe. I am just now making my way home. Okay, that's stupid. But, seriously, 1/4 of the way across the globe. Nobody who has heard either of the previous two NASUM albums would expect anything other than pure grinding pandemonium from the band (myself included) and NASUM don't disappoint. Many chaotic bands insist on maturing at the expense of their frenzied approach. Not so with NASUM. Yes, they've matured but the end result is a sound every bit as frenzied and rabid as their fans would expect. Rumor has it that if the EU does vote to expand its military strength it is going to buy "Helvete" CDs instead of tanks, since they are cheaper and more devastating.
