Supersuckers
Mid-Fi Field Recordings Volume 3: From the Audio/Video Department, Live In Anaheim (Music Video Distributors)

By: Alex Steininger

Featuring a live performance from the almighty Supersuckers, recorded in Anaheim, the rock 'n' roll quartet spits out their first DVD and it captures what the band describes as opening a "can of whoop-ass we keep handy for the good people who come to see us".

Just as loud, obnoxious, and as funny as you've come to expect on record, the DVD satisfies your cravings for rock 'n' roll. The only thing that would be better would be to actually have been there, or to see the band live the next time they roll through town. But, since that isn't possible every day of the week, this DVD will suffice.

Also included is a bonus disc, an audio CD that finds The Supersuckers delving into their other love, country music. Yes, folks, it's sort-of an add-on to Must've Been Live, their live country record.

The rock 'n' roll set includes such staples as "The Evil Powers of Rock-N-Roll", "Pretty Fucked Up", "I Want The Drugs", and plenty of others. It's seventeen tracks of good ol' rock 'n' roll.

The country disc also includes "Pretty Fucked Up" and "Creepy Jackalope Eye", as well as other favorites you've come to expect from their country set, such as "Double Wide", "Dead in the Water", and, of course, "Born with a Tail" (which also appears on the DVD rock set).

Yes, folks, this is the Supersuckers. If you like their country set, you'll dig the country album. And if you've seen them live and/or listened to one of their records and like it, this DVD will show you why people think they're a good rock 'n' roll band. I'll give it a B+.
