 Swedish death metal supergroup Murder Squad, featuring members of Entombed and Dismember, stick their collective knives out for a gorier, more visceral approach to metal on the 12-track Ravenous Murder. Bursting with uncompromising, ultra heavy songs like "Homocide", the splattercore mentality is alive and well here, showcased on tracks like the thunderous "Epidermal Massacre" and the frivolously titled yet punchy "Spunkslut". Growling its way through thick, sludgy grooves, Murder Squad has made blood and guts fun again, as this side project for the quartet, initially a death metal cover band, has reared a monstrous metal beast on the level of bands that started the whole Gothenburg movement.
