SHOW REVIEW: Goldfinger: LIVE
La Luna-Portland, Oregon (9/30/97)

By: Author Unknown

On September the 30th Goldfinger graced the stage of La Luna. If you haden't ever had the chance to see the band in action, this would have been the perfect opportunity. I've seen them several times before, and I don't know that I have enjoyed any of their shows as much as I did this one. I think one of the reasons that the show was so great is due to the absence of the barrier. The show was so much more personal with that extra five feet of dead air taken away. The only problen that brought up, was if you crowd surfed, you had to go up on stage. Being right down in front left you as their landing pad. Goldfinger played an awesome set; almost every song from their self titled album, and a few from the new one. The highlight of the show was, without a doubt, "F*ck L.A.", as it always is. There was so much energy in the room. Between the band and the crowd, the place was shakin'! The song has the power to get that adrenalin flowing, and it did! They did a four song encore and we still wanted more. Goldfinger really kows how to get you going!! If they come to town again, it wouldn't just be a good idea to go see them...it'd be downright stupid not to.
