Ratos De Porao
Carniceria Tropical (Alternative Tentacles)

By: Jeb Branin

R.D.P. have been around just about a week shy of forever and these boys from Brazil have consistently delivered the goods time and time again, but on "Carniceria Tropical" they up the ante. WAY up. This is extreme hardcore as it was meant to be played: take-no-prisoner intensity mixed with rip-out-your-throat power violence styled mayhem. After 10 albums one might be tempted to believe that RDP had played all their cards. Not so. In some ways this harkens back to the earlier days of the band and their Swedish crust influences but for the most part this shows the band launching themselves in a new direction, one that is light years removed from the metal influenced crossover of their last few albums and more along the lines of CAPITALIST CASUALTIES flavored hysteria. A royal flush of an album without a doubt.
