Wolfsheim
Spectators (Strange Ways Records)

By: DJ Dysdynia

Wolfsheim is taking the gothic dance floors by storm with a style of music that takes a new twist on a old approach. In the tradition of Red Flag, Camouflage, and Depeche Mode, Germany has arisen with a new style called Synth pop, which isn't all that new to them. This breed of style takes the pop vocals and brings it up to speed with more elaborate electronic and moving dance beats. Spectator brings feelings to the dance floor. The electronics vary from simple orchestration to dub. The meridian of the group Wolfsheim and of the Spectator CD is definitely the vocals by Peter Heppner. His voice is full, sincere, and lusciously sexy (it's the foreign accent) , with lyrics that are filled with sensuality and complete emotion (yes, most songs are in English.) The only disadvantage is that Spectators is only available as an Import, but worth every cent.
