Three Bad Jacks Made of Stone (Boston Krown) By: Alex Steininger
Frontman Elvis Suissa, named after the king of rock 'n' roll, finds his own bliss on MADE OF STONE, a rockin' rock-a-billy thriller that will get you dancing and having fun. Obviously, being named after Elvis Presley, Suissa grew up on the best rock-a-billy had to offer, and it shows, as he sends you wailing away to his juicy, hard-to-ignore powerhouse rock."Down Town Gonna Rumble" is the fire starter, burning hot and sparkling with energy, the bass thumps and pumps the music along, while the clatter of the drums feel like coals on your feet. The guitar chimes in and wails away, sending grooves up and down your spine. All while Suissa's voice gets you feeling the vibrant sounds his band so easily seems to dish out. "Black Cadillac" keeps the jumping and jiving up, serving up hot, delicious rock-a-billy that anyone who wants to dance will appreciate. "Woman Think I'm Handsome (Men Folks Think I'm Mean)" spirals at you with increasing speed, "I Believe" slows it down for a nice slow dance, "Pretty Senorita (What's Your Name?)" is an irresistible Spanish groover, and "Ruby" is a steamy, midnight hour cocktail jazz-induced beauty. No matter where he moves or jumps, Suissa and the Three Bad Jacks never leave the rock-a-billy or their goal of making you sweat and dance. But, they leave enough room for them to move and groove to their immense influences, too. Three Bad Jacks are one of the hottest rock-a-billy acts out there today. They've got the right influences, the ability to shake things up, and a great love for what they're doing. All of this shines in their music and almost guarantees you'll have a splendid time whenever Three Bad jacks are at the helm. I'll give it an A.
