John Easdale
Bright Side (Eggbert)

By: Geoff Melton

Following the demise of his previous band, the underrated, largely overlooked Dramarama, frontman/songwriter John Easdale finally hit the racks with his debut solo effort Bright Side. With alot of the instrumentation handled by John (notable guests on a few cuts include Blondie drummer Clem Burke and John's old Dramarama bandmate Mark Englert), Bright Side finds him in familiar territory with classic Easdale lyrics, shimmering hooks and melodies and an everpresent angsty edge. Bright Side is a welcome return of infectious pop with a bite.
