Point of Few
Beneath The Surface 7" (Coalition Records)

By: Jeb Branin

I had heard very good things about POINT OF FEW and was more than a little pleased to find this slab in the mailbox. Having high expectations of a band I have never heard before often leaves me disappointed, but I'm happy to say that in this case nothing could further from the truth. This is a 7" that just might end up being one of the ten best eps of the year. Hailing from The Netherlands these lads do a truly phenomenal job of combining hyper blast thrash with flavorings that can best be described as "youth crew", although it is definitely worth pointing out it is intelligent youth crew. The combination works much better than you might imagine... think HELLNATION with slightly more of a groove and with the occasional breakdown. The international thrash scene is probably healthier now than it has ever been and POINT OF FEW are definitely poised to make their mark in that scene. Another noteworthy aspect of this release is the high quality packaging. Coalition Records seems to always do a superb job and this is top notch.
