 Beautifully crafted folk rock expanded beyond the typical folk rock you're used to, Chris Connelly and the Bells re-route their folk down the path of the new millennium, incorporating synthesizers, programming, as well as the tried and true sweetness of strings. Electronica and pop play a big hand in the glamorous, flashy sounds of this album. Imagine, if you will, Jeff Buckley collaborating with Martin Atkins, and releasing something on Invisible Records. Got that picture firmly in your mind? Well, it may be the lack of sleep and the fact that it's 3am talking, but that right there my friend is what this album sounds like. It's equal parts elegance and genius-ness; a perfect companion to Chris Connelly's latest collaboration with Bill Rieflin (reviewed in this issue - pop/rock section). I'll give this an A.
