Shades Apart Sonic Boom (Universal) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
Annoying emo-pop sent through a metal blender, Shades Apart's latest is a modern rock catastrophe, relying on Creed-esque metal leanings and Tonic pop sensibilities. This is several trends blended into one very commercial, yet not-so-commercial mesh of loud rock, tender ballad pop, and lots of noise rearing its ugly face over every pop and gentle inkling the album has. I'll give it a D.
