Punk O Rama 2001 - Volume 6 (Epitaph Records)

 Epitaph's classic label sampler, Punk O Rama, the best way to hear your favorite Epitaph bands and expose yourself to new signings that you may be unaware of, is back. Volume 6 delivers mostly album tracks - but some non-album tracks - from bands like Guttermouth, NOFX, Pennywise (with Exene from X covering X), Rancid, Death By Stereo, Bad Religion and many more.The problem I have with Epitaph compilations is that all the bands sound so similar, yet are distinctly different enough to notice to those familiar with the bands. Therefore, there is a bit of cohesion going on, but not that much. So it all sounds like one big run on sentence after awhile. It is a tradition though. Punk O Rama is to Epitaph as baseball is to America. If you like Epitaph, you'll dig this. I'll give it a C+. 15
