Kinski Airs Above Your Station (Sub Pop Records) By: Alex Steininger
Kinski's Airs Above Your Station is a dreamy, atmospheric indie-rock album, an indie-rock version of ambient music, if ambient music wasn't so drone-y and hopeless at times. Creating spacey, spacious soundscapes alongside nestling textures, Airs Above Your Station is the perfect record to slumber too. That is, until they break into the rock, startling you with some buzzing guitars and slamming rhythms, before helping you slip back into a trance (and once again doing it all over again). This is a sweet, but far from innocent record, equal parts dream-experimentation and rock 'n' roll. I'll give it a B-.
