Lord Sterling
Today's Song for Tomorrow (Small Stone)

By: Mike SOS

When a band's musical instrument arsenal includes Moog, electric sitar, and a harmonium (whatever the hell that is), strap yourself in for a E-ticket to Space Mountain, courtesy of the New Jersey based Lord Sterling. This quartet knows how to alter mood through sound, as the psychedelic aura of "Password" to the arena rock swagger circa 1968 in "Tough Times for the Troubadours" are just some of the stock sounds manipulated here for maximum output. Sprinkled with acid and deep rooted in punk rock history, Lord Sterling put a sense of majesty into its sneer and come up with a 10-track collection that will swirl in your head for hours on end after a few solid listens. Heavy, trippy, and ultimately satisfying.
