Tuesday
Early Summer (Asian Man Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Asian Man Records has a reputation for bringing us the latest and greatest in the world of ska, punk, and hardcore. And this release is no exception. With so many punk bands sounding the same these days, Tuesday delivers us a fresh new take on punk rock with their latest EP release entitled "Early Summer."

The CD starts off with "It's A Bright Light." Chunky guitars line the CD, while the emotional combination of lyrics and vocals add power to the song. The drummer pounds on the skins as if he was trying to make them bleed, while the bassist thumps his way through the track. The hooks are plentiful, and everything is put together perfectly. If your not jumping around and attempting to sing along to this CD by the middle of track one, than your probably asleep. Track two, "One Day of Peace," starts out with a soft guitar, and the vocals heavy in the mix. Then the power of the song explodes and everything gets faster, and faster. Once again the hooks grab you and call out your name. The music is addicting, the lyrics are emotional, and the vocals are powerful and help the music in every way. "That's Not Like Me" is another flavorful track with crunching guitars, thick bass lines that pound there way through each song, and heart pounding drums. "So Awake" closes out the CD in a powerful way. Ten minutes have came to a close, and now you scramble to repeat the disc. Only four songs, but four powerful songs!

Look for full-length Tuesday album very soon on Asian Man Records! This band has tremendous talent, and soon you'll be hearing their name everywhere! This band is great! I'll give this CD a B+, and that's very high for an EP!
