Weed Out The Weak (Metal Blade Records)

 It is great to see this CD finally get released on the American side of the pond. KONKHRA is primarily two Danish chaps, vocalist/guitarist Anders Lundemark and bassist Thomas Christensen, whose music (and reputation) has enough power and teeth to enlist the likes of James Murphy to add his guitar and Chris Kontos to pick up his sticks. This is the fourth full length from Anders and Thomas and probably the first and last with Murphy and Kontos. The music is hard edged death thrash with gruff shouted vocals and pounding, driving rhythms. It packs a tremendous punch but still is heavily reliant on melody and song structure. Whether your cup o' joe is metal, death, thrash, or grind there is something here for you.
