Faith and the Muse
Evidence of Heaven (Neue Asthetik Multimedia)

By: DJ Dysdynia

Once again Monica Richards and William Faith have found a method of creating music that is incredibly beautiful, meaningful, and mesmerizing. The new CD, EVIDENCE OF HEAVEN, is an even more enchanting creation then the duos previous releases, "Awwyn Beneath the Waves" and "Elyria." Faith and the Muse are well known for their Celtic story unraveling style, and delicate renewal of song of olde to songs that can be understood and enjoyed by a new generation. EVIDENCE OF HEAVEN still contains some Celtic tones, but many of them are underlying and coated. The cover art of the CD denotes a change of origin and inspiration for the group. EVIDENCE OF HEAVEN wanes from Celtic flavor to a Renaissance period. The CD still intertwines melodic piano, heavy guitar and myriad of different instruments, but the overall sense of the music is that of the time of kings and queens and not Celtic gods. The CD begins with a short track of distant classical piano music and then it slips into the forceful, guitar heavy "Scars Flown Proud." Following is the milder "Shattered in Aspect." A highlight of EVIDENCE OF HEAVEN is definitely Monica doing "Importune Me No More," which will be recognized by anyone who caught them during their acoustic Vera Cuasa tour. Many fans may be taken off guard by the stray of sound from this new Faith and the Muse project, but after a few listenings, one realizes the music is still Monica and William no matter what the theme.
