Steel Prophet
Messiah (Nuclear Blast)

By: Jeb Branin

Frankly I am extremely curious to see if the groundswell of power metal bands garnering attention around the world will actually manage to break open the U.S. market and reintroduce "real metal" to the hordes of heavy music fans in this country. Mark my words, if they do you can expect STEEL PROPHET to be at the forefront of the new wave. They have all of the classic metallic vibes necessary to be a genuine contender plus they have a melodic sense that is more radio friendly than many of their counterparts. Imagine combining Ronnie James Dio's more accessible material with the delivery of "7th Son"era IRON MAIDEN and that gives you a starting reference for STEEL PROPHET. Each of the 11 tracks on "Messiah" is a clear-cut metal classic and throughout the album a huge range of stylistic considerations is explored while never once sacrificing the integrity of a hard edged delivery.
