The Shutdowns
T-75 (Theologian Records)

By: Jeb Branin

Not to be confused with the far more generic sounding SHUTDOWN on Victory records, these punks have resumes that include such noteworthy acts as Bombs, Shattered Faith, Grabbers and Manic Hispanic. It, therefore, is no wonder that "T-75" is a top notch release anyway you look at it. Their punk has all the attitude and snottiness that has defined the genre since the beginning but they couch it in instantly memorable songs. You think that wimpy MTV approved pop punk is catchy? Well THE SHUTDOWNS have the Center For Disease Control in a panic because they are so infectious they make airborne biological weapons look inert. They are going to have people labeling them as "pop" punk so just remember that is as in "pop you right in the mouth sucka". THE SHUTDOWNS should run for president and put KNOWITALL on the ballot as the V.P. candidate. I'd vote for that ticket.
