Cadillac Blindside
Read the Book, Seen the Movie (Soda Jerk Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Emo is all over the place now; bands blending pop-rock with hardcore, delivering a sound that is way too aggressive, moody, and emotional to be called pop music, but too watered-down to be punk or hardcore. The sound is nothing new and neither are the hordes of band replicating the sound each day. And though Cadillac Blindside adds nothing new to the sub-genre, they do what they do well, delivering heart-wrenching blows of guitar and vocals, coupled with shattering rhythms sure to make you drop to your knees and cry. This is catchy emo that, if you're into emo, you'll embrace and enjoy. Otherwise, you'll probably give it a few spins (if that) and pass on it. I enjoyed it for awhile and then grew tired of it. I'll give it a B.
