Ass Ponys Lohio (Checkered Past) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
Tongue-in-cheek rock and warm, sincere folk are two contradicting styles that the Ass Ponys seem to blend quite easily. Their hybrid form comes quite naturally to them. The result is a stunning, breath taking collection of thirteen songs that are soft, folk-y, and pretty, all while remaining tongue-in-cheek, a style the Ass Ponys nearly invented. Here is a solid collection of folk-rock not afraid to take changes, not afraid to forge ahead, and not afraid to revisit the past when needed. I'll give it a B+.
