Riverboat Gamblers
Riverboat Gamblers (Vile Beat)

By: Alex Steininger

Garage rock from the word go, Riverboat Gamblers' self-titled full-length is a joyride of guitars, drums, and plenty of bass, stripped to the core, wailing away, cranking out simple, but enjoyable rock 'n' roll as it was meant to be, imperfect, chaotic, and uncontrollable. Spontaneous and loose, the band just starts to play with a song structure and builds upon it as they go, throwing their parts down with a wild party vibe, each other instantly catching what each other is doing, picking up on it, and returning the goods. This is original garage rock as it was meant to be, pure, untainted, and nothing but rock. Riverboat Gamblers are anything but a gamble for rockers, their sure fire rock will satisfy even the hungriest of rock appetites. I'll give it an A.
