Los Halos
Los Halos (Loveless Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Los Halos start off with a noisy bang on their recently re-released, self-titled EP. The loud, chaotic fury of "You Should Have Known By Now" melts into the faint "At The End of All Days on Earth", a song lead by the quiet vocals and whispery electric guitar while the rhythm section falls like rain drops on the backdrop.

The album takes a very artsy road the rest of the way, combining subtle, quiet, and noise to create a sonically creative album. The only draw back of this album is the length of each song; the average song is over ten minutes (7 songs lasting over seventy minutes). After a while I couldn't take it anymore. I had to let it slip into the background, which isn't such a bad thing. I'll give it a C-.
