Lewis Even So (Deep Elm Records) By: Alex Steininger
Mellow, guitar-driven pop songs that gently glide from track to track, Lewis' Even So is a delicate, sparse, yet full sounding indie rock record. Though it has its rocking moments; it does turn up the volume here and there and through some noise your way. Its focus and strong points are in its ability to effectively deliver a light, serene song that makes you think and feel, rather than just drowning all that out with noise. Quite a departure from the usual emo on Deep Elm, Lewis should find a nice home on the label and help broaden the minds of many emo-worshipping kids. I'll give this a B.
