VARIOUS ARTISTS: Billy Volume One - A compilation of rockabilly bands (Hepcat Records) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
Twenty-one pure rockabilly threats from some of the finest rockabilly bands, including Reverend Horton Heat, Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Trio, Three Bad Jacks, and Deke Dickerson, to name a few. From the fervent to the loud, these bands always make it danceable and fun. Reverend Horton Heat's "Loco Gringos's Like To Party" is a hootenanny. Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Trio serve it up a la classic mode, and Deke Dickerson serves up a jam session. This is rockabilly, pure and simple, in its rawest form. I'll give this a B-.
