Kings of Leon Holy Roller Novocaine (RCA Records) By: Alex Steininger
Consisting of three brothers (Jared, Nathan, and Caleb Followill) and a cousin (Matthew), The Kings of Leon were born. Mixing a southern style with garage rock, Kings of Leon's debut, Holy Roller Novocaine plays like a bastard child. Sprung from a love of garage rock, but hard to resist their southern leanings, Holy Roller Novocaine has grit and teeth, shaking and moving around, while also biting down hard when needed; a good fusion that might single the new wave of garage-rock offspring. I'll give it a B.
