Pink Grease All Over You (Horseglue/Mute) By: Cam Lindsay
Without ever missing a step, newcomers Pink Grease have delivered a masterful debut mini-album filled with chaos, blood, sweat and "the sound of right now". Inventing a mash-up of dirty rock 'n' roll, electronic mayhem and all-out manic weirdness, Pink Grease never take things down a notch. The six songs on All Over You conveniently happen to contain the energy and excitement of everything that's good in the rock scene at the moment: NYC cool (though they hail from Sheffield), post-punk inventiveness and a taste for the latest fashion. The five-piece have the ghoulish knack of The Cramps (check out "The Beast"), the artistic magnitude of Suicide and fashion of New York Dolls. A nice companion to Horse of the Dog by The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster or Chat & Business by Ikara Colt, All Over You is another great introduction to another fantastic British band putting their own spin on the all-important, life saving, rock 'n' roll movement.
