Gob
Foot In Mouth Disease (Nettwerk)

By: Mark A. Lawrence the IV

Thank Gob for Foot In Mouth Disease, the latest rocking fun album from this band from the North. This is Power Pop gone bad in the good way, like Blue Cheese. The fast paced tracks on this album make it a fun listen, with songs like "I Cut Myself, Too" and "Oh Ellin" that has the strong backbone structure of Rock 'n' Roll, but has enough pop elements to make them stick in your head. Some might say these guys are just another skate rock band (yes, It crossed my mind too), but there are hints of experimentation that is at the heart of band longevity in songs like "I've Been Up These Steps" and "Give Up The Grudge" to suggest they'll be around for some time. Gob is doing a good job of working on their own flavor and backing it well with a tight knit canvas of sound. It should be interesting to see where these boys go from here. Along with this album, a bonus DVD is included which contains an amazing amount of material including 13 audio tracks that are not found on the CD and 3 videos. Rating: B+
