Days Come Easy (Self-Released)

By: Mark A. Lawrence the IV

The songs on this album have a great crunchy sound that gives the feel of a hard working garage band, and harks back to the classic rock of the 70's. Adam Cassidy's vocals fall somewhere in the midst of Neal Young, David Bowie, and Riff Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The end result sounds like the Violent Femmes mixed with the better parts of The Rolling Stones. "Do What You Will" has aggressive guitar work with apparent root rock influence that draws elements from the Stones and CCR. The CD's opening track "Days Come Easy" has an infectious semi-melodic chorus, making it almost impossible not to sing along. This is a great album of strait forward rock, spiced with the occasional blues harmonica. It's a nice mix, which we don't see enough of these days. If your tired of the radio-play of bands that declare they're rock but are clearly not, then Beggarz's Days Come Easy is a perfect CD to pick up for a pure shot of the real thing. Rating: A
