Lorenzo Goetz
Allure (Innocent Words Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Crunchy, guitar-driven rock 'n' roll with a space-y vibe and a penchant for shaking things up, the funky, dynamic rock of Lorenzo Goetz is powerful and soothing, calculated and careless, a record that is well thought but also free form. Lorenzo Goetz pull off such contradictions time and time again by making each song as jarring as possible, but also reserved and timid, depending on the time and mood. Allure, their debut EP, offers up a band that is coming into form and will keep on hitting you in the future until the big bang comes and they make a name for themselves outside of their local region (Champagne, IL). I'll give it a C+.
