Stop It!
Self-Made Maps (Robotic Empire)

By: Jeb Branin

Noise core along the lines of what was once called AmRep style has made a startling comeback as of late. Startling in that it is so fresh, invigorating and exciting. Without question the infusion of DEP influences has helped fuel much of that comeback, but still when you listen to an album like "Self-Made Maps" by STOP IT!, you can't help but be amazed. STOP IT! create music that is built on counterpoise. They use seemingly incongruous mixtures like; dissonance and melody, rawness and precision, brashness and subtlety to formulate a pantheon of hardcore worthy of worship by fans of everything from emo to hardcore to metal to jazz. This is music for both the thinking person and the emotive person* there you go, yet another counterpoise.
