Macabre Murder Metal (Seasons of Mist) By: Jeb Branin

Woa. Here is a band that has not aged well. Featuring the same lineup and basically the same approach for over a decade, MACABRE have gone from innovative to blah. In the early days of death metal the vile and demented sounds of MACABRE were one-of-a-kind and noteworthy, if only for uniqueness. In Y23, the same shtick of screechy vocals, quirky riffs and murderous storytelling is boring and clich?. Another case of a band being surpassed by their own imitators.
