Hate No. 3
The Voice Full Of Hate From Far East.CO.JP [MCD] (Sound Pollution)

By: Jeb Branin

With a name reminiscent of the legendary (in my mind) HATE X 9 and a sound reminiscent of the New Wave of East Coast Hate Edge (NWOECHE) movement, HATE NO. 3 from Kobe City, Japan spit out three fiery tunes on this hit-and-run MCD. When the band concentrates of ripping through their spine-splintering music they are as harsh and irate as anyone. Unfortunately, they spend a good deal of time each song "lecturing" with spoken word segments. I don't speak the language, so I'm not sure what is being said, but since they do it in each song I suspect they see the talking over the music as some sort of a trademark. I think it's rather distracting and takes away from the overall impact of the music. Why talk over the music when you can SCREAM over the music? If you want people to understand you, follow the example of bands like SHANK and include detailed (or in SHANK's case, exhaustive) liner notes.
