Buried Inside Chronoclast: Selected Essays on Time-Reckoning and Auto-Cannibalism (Relapse Records) By: Jeb Branin
BURIED INSIDE unleashes a blistering aural assault on their fascinatingly titled debut for Relapse. Borrowing equally from metal, grind, west coast power violence, and neo-mathcore in the DEP vein, BURIED INSIDE has concocted a masterful tour de force of musical extremes. Although rife with boundless passion and aggression, the album is still stunningly complex and, at times, even melody-rich. It has noisy underpinnings that lead me to believe that if AmRep has been around long enough for the post-DEP craze they would have released something like this. Simply put this album rips and tears. BURIED INSIDE is guaranteed to appeal to fans of bands like UPHILL BATTLE, BURNT BY THE SUN, and RED CHORD.
