Gogogo Airheart
Gogogo Airheart (Gold Standard Laboratories)

By: Alex Steininger

Noise, melody, and experimentation come into full effect on Gogogo Airheart's self-titled full-length. A chaotic swirl of guitars and eerie rhythms crash together into an unorthodox, creepy mesh that changes from offsetting one minute to beauty the next. It is this contradiction that seems to fuel the record and make its hard-to-digest demeanor both enduring and damaging. The band manages to leave a lot of room in each song, usually for the better, and when they don't leave room in the song and just blast it out, they know what they're doing. If you like your music to play with your mind and tweak, than this is the sound of that plan. I'll give it a B-.
