Paul Brill New Pagan Love Song (Scarlet Shame Records) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
Though Brill refers to his music as "electricana", a mixture of electronic elements into his Americana sound, I think the songs of New Pagan Love Song would be better described as down-to-earth space-rock. Either way, what you get when you're listening to this gorgeous album are gentle melodies, rich, rustic tones, and barrier-free vocals that come straight from Brill's heart to yours. Soothing, passionate, and undeniably beautiful, this is sweeping pop for restless souls, slumbering sounds for insomniacs, and indie-pop for those that hate pretension. I'll give it an A-.
