Plane Hello More (Dirigeable Records) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
Danceable, new wave-infused pop music, all skewed with an indie-rock touch, Plane's Hello More brings the 80s to the forefront -- well, if 80s commercial pop were played with the intensity and passion of 80s college rock. The album offers up poppy, hook-laden songs alongside more abstract, harder-to-swallow excursions between songs which, at first seem distracting, but when played from start to finish, lend to the quirkiness of the songs, and thus the album. It's an indie-rock record with a lot of experimental ideas incorporated, ensuring that you won't fully get or understand the record for a few listens, therefore you must dedicate more time to it to fully absorb all it is trying to do. I'll give it a B.
