The Epoxies Stop The Future (Fat Wreck Chords) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
On their first record for Fat Wreck Chords, Portland, Oregon's new wave-punk outfit The Epoxies deliver a powerhouse record that sounds like what Weezer would sound like - if they were raised on punk instead of pop. Keyboard-laden, fast, and, well, very new wave-y, The Epoxies also play well to pop-punkers with their sugar coating. Female fronted, this quintet has no problem winning over audiences with the awe-struck live shows. But, Stop The Future has no problem winning fans over, either. It's a solid, strong, and easily accessible record that will bring plenty of punkers into the new wave, and vice versa. I'll give it a B+.
