Co-songwriter and co-front man Neil Gust, still very much into the power of a rock band, formed a new outfit, No. 2, with one-time Elliott Smith drummer Paul Pulvirenti and Jim Talstra (Minus 5, The Maroons) on bass & vocals.

The Northwest Supergroup then toured relentlessly, hitting the road with Elliott Smith, supporting him on his XO Tour. Following the Elliott Smith tour, No. 2 came back home, completed a few headlining Northwest tours, and then left for a national tour with Quasi. After the Quasi tour, No. 2 landed a West Coast tour with Sleater-Kinney and select dates with Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks.

With the release of their sophomore full-length, What Does Good Luck Bring?, No. 2 plans to once again bring the show on the road. Tours are planned for the winter of 2002 and spring of 2003.

No. 2's debut full-length, No Memory, which featured guest appearances by Elliott Smith and Quasi's Sam Coomes, found Gust delivering a timeless pop gem. With What Does Good Luck Bring? fans of No. 2 will get what they have come to expect from the band's live show, a loud, guitar-driven rock record, one that still maintains the hooks and melodic nature of Gust's songwriting, but isn't afraid to let it all go. And, a guest appearance by Quasi's Sam Coomes makes What Does Good Luck Bring? even more appealing to fans of No. 2 and Quasi.
