Too Much Woman

Well, I have to say what initially attracted me to this album was the video. I had never heard of Brigette McWilliams to my surprise and when I saw the video for "Morning" on one of the local video channels I got a feel for the melody. I could not get the tune out of my head and that compelled me to go pick this album up to see just what this woman's vibe was all about. Now, all I can say is thank heaven's I did! I LOVE this album. There is something on this work that makes me, as a woman, want to listen to it and with my listening I am honestly feeling every word. The title of the album is "Too Much Woman" and it sings to me as the diva that I be!The entire album has a "Brand New Heavies/ N'Dea Davenport" sorta feel. On the track "Morning" , which is simply GORGEOUS, Brigette's deliverance, along with the wonderful acoustic guitar makes this such a great song in celebration of love and being with the one you desire. "Through It All", another favorite of mine is a delicate vocal deliverance with strings that pull you into the song. It is one that I find myself putting on replay often. Soft, mellow and strong! "Don't Wanna Stay", soothing and withholding, once again great vocals. It has a very eclectic fusion sound. Very nice. On the title track "Too Much Woman", Brigette gives off a 70's groove feel. Very earthy and grounded sound once again groovy and tempered. "Better Off Without You", this song is a very tired track because her vocals are so smooth and languid even to the point of being sensual. It's like a slow wind of the hips, slick, mellow and tame (another favorite). On "Wishing" her deliverance is clear and effortless, very nice. The entire collection is comprised of 14 tracks. "Too Much Woman" is one of those rare albums that you can listen to track to track and not skip over any one song, they all fall into the next with subtlety. From start to finish it is a complete album. Brigette, with this album has become a favorite of mine. Her vocals are honest and a real throughout and her material is simply wonderful, lyrically and production wise. This album, in my opinion has earned a very well rounded and much deserved 5. (WOW - A first!). Brigette needs to be heard because as one "too much woman" to another, I understand her sound and appreciate her talent. Pick this one up, you will be very glad you did!
