Imperative Reaction
Eulogy for the Sick Child (Pendragon Records)

By: DJ Dysdynia

Once again from this small record label, Pendragon, comes another Industrial culprit. This one is entitled Imperative Reaction, consisting of David Andrecht and Ted Phelps. The CD begins with melodic keyboards, samples and kicks in with perfunctory beats. Most tracks contain distorted sibilant vocals and a highly intellectual matrix of marginal techno stimulus and hard industrial syncopation. Other tracks, such as, "Compressed/Terror" incorporate the rising drum and bass element in current industrial music trends. Eulogy for the Sick Child is beat oriented, calculating and organized but, still very cold, moving and rigorous. Any fan of new FLA or even Birmingham 6 will definitely want to take a trip with this one.
